A shirtless man has been arrested after multiple streets were placed into lockdown in south Brisbane.
Police were called to a Chambers Flat Road property shortly after 12am on Thursday, after neighbours complained about loud music blaring from a stereo.
It’s understood one of the tunes heard by neighbours was ‘F--k Tha Police’ by N.W.A.
Upon arrival, police began negotiations with the man who was alone inside the home at the time.
Police have alleged he was armed with a pistol.
An emergency situation was declared just before 6am, with boundaries encompassing Chambers Flat Road, School Road and Logan Reserve Road.
The PSA has since been lifted and residents are allowed to return to their homes.
South East Region RDO Jason Barrowcliffe said a 27-year-old man handed himself over to police about 8.40am following the lengthy standoff.
He said when police had initially knocked on the man’s door, he was allegedly holding a pistol-like weapon. .
“They withdrew from the property when they sighted what they believed was a firearm,” he said.

Sergeant Barrowcliff said during the negotiations the man was in an agitated state but eventually came “face to face” with officers to speak with them directly.
“We always try to negotiate a peaceful solution,” sergeant Barrowcliffe said.
“He threatened police at some points.
“We’ve do have an onus to keep the community safe as well as the person in the house, that’s why we had a stronghold.”
The man has been taken to hospital following this arrest to be treated by medical staff.
A search warrant has been executed to look for any weapon that might be in the man’s house.
Members of the public were advised to avoid the area and those within the exclusion zone were asked to remain indoors.
Sergeant Barrowcliff thanked the community for their patience during the morning’s disruption to road closures.
