Happy Birthday today to the Mother Monster!! A toast to Lady Stefani Joanne Angelina Countess Elizabeth Enigma Ally Patrizia Harley Quinn Gaga as she turns 38 today. Gaga has been fairly low key lately (at least by her standards), likely enjoying the calm before the storm of performing her next Oscar campaign for Joker: Folie à Deux. We also know, thanks to Gaga bleaching her eyebrows, that she’s been busy working on her seventh studio album. It’s been four years since she released Chromatica and Little Monsters are impatient! So much so that while chatting with YouTuber NikkieTutorials this week, Gaga promised her fans that she’s working as fast as she can:

Lady Gaga knows her listeners are eager for updates on her upcoming seventh studio album.

On Tuesday, while speaking with YouTuber NikkieTutorials, the “Bad Romance” singer assured her fans, known as Little Monsters, that “I’m working as fast as I can” to finish it.

“I will say that I am feeling deeply inspired right now and I’m so excited for everything that I have to show all the fans,” Gaga said in a clip from the interview posted to social media. “I’m deeply grateful for everybody’s excitement in my creativity.”

While details on what her new music will sound like are sparse, the Oscar and Grammy winner did share on her Instagram page in February that she’s “not making a rock album.”

She has also been dropping hints on her Instagram page in recent months showcasing photos of herself in the recording studio, playing the piano and sharing in a post that she’s “writing lyrics in bed.”

It has been four years since Gaga released a studio album, last dropping her dance-centric album “Chromatica” in 2020.

But in the meantime — and to be fair — the multi-hyphenate star has been busy.

Gaga has been hard at work filming the hotly anticipated “Joker” sequel titled “Joker: Folie à Deux,” which wrapped production in April of last year and is coming out in October.

In the sequel, which is billed as a musical, Gaga plays Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix, who is reprising his titular role as the Joker. In 2020, Phoenix won a best actor Oscar for his performance as the twisted DC villain.

Additionally, aside from her duties related to her beauty label Haus Labs, Gaga will also be returning to Las Vegas with her popular “Jazz & Piano” residency for an eight-day run at Park MGM’s Dolby Live in June and July.

“I’m deeply grateful for everybody’s excitement in my creativity.” Oh I love this quote. With anyone else I would write it off as someone just full of themself. But with Gaga, I feel that yes she’s full of herself, AND also completely earnest and fully believing in the purity of the artistic process amplified by the symbiosis of energies between creator (Mother Monster) and consumers (Little Monsters). In essence, she’s a really rich hippie. Between this comment and it being her birthday, I’m reminded of the moment in her documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two where she muses on wanting to grow old with her fans: “I’m excited. I want to become an old rockstar lady.” We want that too, Lady! And however long LG7 takes is how long it takes. We’ll keep watching the eyebrows for updates.
